Judo
Judo, from the Japanese meaning "gentle way", is a disciplined form of martial art using techniques for falling, throwing, breakfalls and grappling all in a controlled environment. No punching or kicking is allowed.
Regular participation helps to enhance self-esteem, confidence, stamina, strength, fitness, co-ordination, discipline and respect. Judo is suitable for girls or boys regardless of their size or abilities, with a ranks grading system to ensure the next stage is realistic and achievable.
Judo training helps in addressing issues such as passivity and a lack of assertiveness.
